The King’s Air Force is responsible for air sovereignty, aerial defence and strategic air operations for Links Land.
Published rank structure
The available KAF records define commissioned ranks from Officer Cadet through to the senior air ranks.
Mission
The KAF provides observation, liaison, transport and emergency air support. Its small-force model places emphasis on safe flying, maintainable equipment and cooperation with the other services.
Readiness
Aircrew and ground personnel train together throughout the year. Readiness includes flight planning, weather assessment, engineering assurance and coordination with civilian aviation authorities.
